Celtic Pendant
This is a ornament for a woman with big hair.
It measures 4.75 inches across and is secured by a pin of twisted wire.
All stainless steel,pierced sheet(laser-cut),twisted wire.
It's fairly light but very strong and flexible. Definitely an heirloom that will last a lifetime.
The pattern is inspired by an ornamented bronze disc in the British Museum dated third century B.C.
Stylistically it represents the EARLY LA TENE STYLE
I think it most interesting that the Celts revered their metal workers so much as to put them on the same level as the Druids and the warrior class. The ability to work metal was considered a Divine Gift and the works were considered to be invested with much more than just craft and function. I have always found resonance with this belief, and the fact that all my direct descendants have had a special rapore with fire leads me to the conviction that it has become a GENETIC trait in my clan. I like to think that my incarnation could occur AT ANY TIME IN HISTORY and I could make a successful life because of this ability to work metal...
Limited edition.
I'm selling these for $150.oo U.S. (plus shipping)
