Hi, I'm wanting to become more involved in my Tribe boards, so I pose a question to get the conversation started. Who all on this board has their stuff in boutiques, department stores, does booths at tradeshows? What other ways do you sell your goods (home parties, Internet sales?) What have you found to be the most effective?

Sat, November 3, 2007 - 9:08 AMI found in doing 'tradeshows' your best bet is to have things in all price ranges. I also found out I hate tradeshows.
So I mainly sell on etsy which can be slow at times and yet other times a sell an item each week- the best thing that came out of etsy is figuring out the US postal system, well not the only thing- selling stuff overseas was a bit of a hoot.
I also have one boutique that does a 60/40 split with me, I find that works out well for things that just don't photograph well, or really need to be seen in person.
I make one of a kind pieces so my inventory is slim and sometimes pricey or really cheap and goofy.
I'm not making lots of money, but I am able to shield myself from burnout for the most part.
Home parties if you throw them before x-mas can really bring in the bucks if you invite the right people. I always had champagne cocktails and chocolates- I tried a tea once but the booze went over much better.
