Hello all!
I've dabbled in jewelry making but it has been a few years (I have a 3 year old now who prevents me from creating now). I've just done a little wire wrapping and my technique could use some work, and I would love to learn more.
I am in the SF East Bay, and was wondering if there might be someone who could use a little help (with ? is up to you) in return for teaching me some new skills?!
I would only be available evenings and weekends for now, but I can't think of a better way to spend some of my free time than learning something new.
Let me know if you are interested, and we can work out the deets!

    Hi Anne,

You should check out JewelryLessons.com ( www.jewelrylessons.com ) They have tutorials for all levels of wire work, and many free ones. I learned a lot of good wire wrapping techniques from Eni Oken's tutorials, and there is also a question and answer forum, with lots of experienced wire workers to bounce questions off of. If I lived closer, I would love to teach you some things. I'm always happy to help however I can long distance, though.

    Good luck!

    Hello, Anne:

Check out the Mineralogical and Gemological Society of Castro Valley www.mgscv.org/

In particular, seek out a fellow namet Tom Miller. Tom was demonstrating Square Wire Wrapping while I was making sterling bangle bracelets at the club's last show.

Anne, this is the very reason (apprentice) that I wound up on this website. I thought there might be folks somewhere that might want to teach the beginners just to have help.
It seems that most are taught by video or attend a specialized class.

I do hope to learn more just by reading the posts here. I now have the time to create full time, but am just a little "nausious" to mess up some expensive metal clay. ha

I am from Mississippi, but they do not have any members yet, hope you guys don't mind me barging in.
