Anne, this is the very reason (apprentice) that I wound up on this website. I thought there might be folks somewhere that might want to teach the beginners just to have help.
It seems that most are taught by video or attend a specialized class.

I do hope to learn more just by reading the posts here. I now have the time to create full time, but am just a little "nausious" to mess up some expensive metal clay. ha

I am from Mississippi, but they do not have any members yet, hope you guys don't mind me barging in.

Hi Anne,

You should check out JewelryLessons.com ( http://www.jewelrylessons.com ) They have tutorials for all levels of wire work, and many free ones. I learned a lot of good wire wrapping techniques from Eni Oken's tutorials, and there is also a question and answer forum, with lots of experienced wire workers to bounce questions off of. If I lived closer, I would love to teach you some things. I'm always happy to help however I can long distance, though.

Good luck!

Hello all!
I've dabbled in jewelry making but it has been a few years (I have a 3 year old now who prevents me from creating now). I've just done a little wire wrapping and my technique could use some work, and I would love to learn more.
I am in the SF East Bay, and was wondering if there might be someone who could use a little help (with ? is up to you) in return for teaching me some new skills?!
I would only be available evenings and weekends for now, but I can't think of a better way to spend some of my free time than learning something new.
Let me know if you are interested, and we can work out the deets!
