Does anyone have a pattern of how to create expandable or accordian-like pieces of jewellry?
Here is a link for a ring that can be stretched into a bracelet.

I'd like to create something similer using beads/crystals (to be worn on a penis) ;) ...Any ideas on how to design this would be most welcomed.
Thank you,
Petra :)

Re: Expandable pieces
Thu, November 8, 2007 - 7:21 PMBarrow a technique from the armorer's craft and use sliding rivets, you could even place light tension springs in the tracks for the rivets to slide in to keep the piece snug while still being expandable. I'm considering a similar design concept my self. -

Sun, December 2, 2007 - 2:26 PMOh, by the way, Petra, for the purposes you want to use it for a 5-prong spool knitted design would expand well enough, except you would need a larger spool than the ones usually used for jewelry. Try one larger from a knitting supply catalogue. One with a circumference of a bracelet should produce a piece of knitting about the right size. As you pull it down inside the spool it is smaller than the spool itself.

Re: Expandable pieces
Sun, December 2, 2007 - 2:18 PMThat's pretty neat! I am interested in doing something like that to create some one-size-fits all pieces. I don't have any patterns but will have to experiment around with it. Sometimes that's the best way. -
