Sun, January 6, 2008 - 12:29 PMYou could. I think a little glue is a reasonable way to increase the security.
I've seen people have problems crimping ends on leather by either crimping it too little and the end just falls off or crimping too much and damaging the leather causing it to break.
What type of crimp fastener are you using? If you are using the metal tube type, I would recommend using an awl to actually pierce it when crimping it on--this will bite into the leather better.

Tue, January 8, 2008 - 6:57 PMWhen I use cordage of any type for necklaces I tie slip knots in each end which close about the cord on the opposite side. They don't break and allow me to adjust the size of the necklace over a great range. -

Wed, January 9, 2008 - 8:29 AMGlue's the trick, it hardens the leather and secures the crimp.
I like to use Hypo Cement which dries flexible, not too rigid like Super Glue.
