I want to get custom made rings in gold or platinum, including a gemstone engagement ring and wedding bands. I particularly like the style of James Meyer. Howeer, I'd prefer supporting a local artist, if anyone has the skills and does this kind of thing.

I'm tired of working on my kitchen table, out in the garage, on the temporary work bench, etc. I'd like to be able to cut and polish stones and have access to a soldering bench.

Sun, February 22, 2009 - 7:30 AMThe best way to get cheap shop time is take an applicable class at the nearest Community College that offers a) the equipment you need and b) unstructured "lab' time in the studio. I know several successful designers who operated out of the jewelry studios at various schools until they got real studio space. -
